# Watni OLT Manager — VM image (Proxmox / VMware ESXi)

Same box as the USB installer, as a virtual disk. First boot grows the disk, gets an address by DHCP, and shows the Watni status screen with the box IP and a QR code. Then press **E** on the console (or use the registration link) to register the box with Watni; we approve it and the platform installs itself.

**Files**
- `watni-olt-box-<date>.qcow2` — Proxmox / KVM
- `watni-olt-box-<date>.ova` — VMware ESXi 6.7+ / vSphere / Workstation
- `SHA256SUMS` — check after download: `sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS`

**VM size**: 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM (8 GB for more than 1,500 ONUs), disk 40 GB or more (the image is 8 GB and grows to the disk you give it on first boot), 1 network card on the VLAN/LAN that can reach the OLTs and the internet. UEFI or BIOS both boot.

Or in the web UI: create the VM without a disk, import the qcow2 with `qm importdisk`, attach it as scsi0, set boot order, resize, start. Open the Console tab to see the Watni screen.

## VMware ESXi / vSphere
1. **Create/Register VM → Deploy a virtual machine from an OVF or OVA file** → choose `watni-olt-box-<date>.ova`.
2. Pick the datastore and the network (port group that reaches the OLTs). Thin provisioning is fine.
3. Before first power-on: **Edit settings → Hard disk 1 → 40 GB** (or more). Keep EFI firmware.
4. Power on; the Web Console shows the Watni screen.

## After first boot
- Screen shows the box IP; dashboard at `http://<ip>:8080` is up after registration + install.
- **E** = register with Watni (needs internet). Send us the box name shown on the screen; we approve it in minutes.
- Network without DHCP: press **N** (PIN from Watni support) to set a static address/VLAN.

Yeh wahi Watni box hai jo USB se install hota hai, bas VM disk ki shakal mein. Proxmox ke liye `.qcow2`, ESXi ke liye `.ova`.
